Hello, my name is Andrew Arriaga. I’m a physical therapist here at XO Orthopedics. Physical therapy is a movement-based science. It’s a preventative medicine to help prevent injury, to help prevent further injury, to help prevent surgical procedures from occurring. Physicians and doctors send patients over here to help. So, patients can help rehabilitate them from potentially not needing surgery ever. Physical therapy is research-based. Physical therapy can … A lot of the stuff that we do here in physical therapy has a purpose, has a meaning behind everything that we do. Every single patient has their specific exercise program specific to them, depending on if you’re a higher level athlete, or an individual that just has pain in their leg. Physical therapy is something that if you have pain anywhere from your jaw, all the way down to your toe. So that includes your hip, your knees, your shoulders, your back, your hands and wrists, and anything in between.
If you have pain doing any type of functional activity, whether if it’s sitting, whether if it’s standing and whether if it’s bending, if you notice that you have pain when you walk for a long period of time, or your knee swells up, a physical therapist, like myself can address that. We can assess you, we can evaluate you and figure out what is it that’s causing all those pains and what is it that we can do to prevent it together? A physical therapist and a patient has this unique connection that’s indescribable if you’ve never had physical therapy. Physical therapy is something that I have a lot of passion for, because I love to help people. I love to help people get better.
